The new space was made possible by the $147 million referendum that Barrington area voters approved in March 2020. The Educational Foundation granted the district $111,000 to fund equipment, supplies, and other materials to develop a BHS Culinary Internship Program. The program will teach students professional culinary skills and techniques such as proper knife use, food safety, menu planning, cooking techniques, and more. Students will also learn about front-of-the-house operations like staffing, hospitality management, the economics of food, and marketing.
